Can “Green Plastics” Offer a Solution to Plastic Waste and Leaching Chemicals?

“CanWest News Service” reports the world recycles less than five percent of all plastics, and while plastic litter is unsightly, the “real problem are the chemicals leaching from it into our soil and water,” including the plastic chemical bisphenol A (BPA). According to the article, “green plastics” offer some promise for a solution; however, some plastics are reportedly greener than others.
