The “Associated Press” reports some parents and Washington lawmakers are looking to limit young children’s exposure to the plastic chemical bisphenol A (BPA), which according to Rep. Mary Lou Dickerson, D-Seattle, primary sponsor of House Bill 1180, “can be very toxic to babies and young children.” The bill is expected to face stiff opposition from the chemical and plastics industry, which has helped defeat proposals in other states and maintains that BPA is safe.
