The “Raleigh News & Observer” reports some moms are ditching plastic cups as reports continue to conflict over the safety of the plastic additive bisphenol A (BPA). Researchers have raised questions about the chemical’s effect on reproductive systems in newborns and fetuses. Although the FDA originally insisted the chemical is safe at low doses, it is now reviewing its assessment as an independent science panel recently found the FDA’s safety assessment was flawed.
