“USA Today” reports congress is stepping in to ask questions about chemical industry influence in drafting a Food and Drug Administration report about the safety of bisphenol A (BPA), a controversial chemical in baby bottles. The FDA recently declared BPA safe, a determination that was reportedly greeted skeptically by consumer groups who argue that hundreds of scientific studies suggest it may cause serious harm.
