Critics Accuse FDA of Ignoring Scientific Warnings about BPA

According to “Dow Jones Newswires”, critics are accusing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of ignoring scientific warnings about health risks of bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical used in everything from plastic baby bottles to sunglasses. Although the FDA said in a report last month BPA is safe at current levels found in food products, parents, lawmakers and scientists say they are baffled by the report, as it appears to contradict another government study citing concerns that low BPA levels may lead to developmental health problems.
