New Study Using Human Tissues Finds BPA may Increase Risk of Heart Attack and Diabetes

According to “Science News”, a new study on bisphenol A (BPA) published in Environmental Health Perspectives, finds that the chemical leaches into the materials it comes in contact with and may increase the risk of heart attack and type-2 diabetes. The article asserts the “rap sheet” for BPA, which is found in food and water containers, baby bottles, and the lining of aluminum cans, keeps getting longer, but the chemical “still has friends at the FDA.” The new study by Ben-Jonathan and colleagues is reportedly especially notable because it uses relevant doses and human tissues.
