The August 18th edition of CNN’s Lou Dobbs Tonight in the segment “FDA Failing You: Gov’t Says BPA Is Good For You,” criticizes the FDA for standing by its “decades old” approval of bottles that contain the plastics chemical bisphenol A (BPA) as safe, and for basing its conclusions on two studies funded by the plastics industry. The FDA’s decision comes after Canada’s assessment of BPA as a “hazardous material” and the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) findings that there is some concern about BPA for human health.
