Plastic Industry Ad Campaign Targeted Bill to Ban BPA

According to the “LA Times,” an ad campaign by the American Chemistry Council targeted a bill in Sacramento that would ban use of a chemical called bisphenol A, or BPA, in products such as baby bottles and sippy cups used by children under 3. The bill would give businesses until 2012 to come up with “the least toxic alternative” to the chemical. According to the “LA Times,” “caution is the right reaction” to the chemical.
