“Packaging World” reports bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical used in plastic baby bottles and other hard plastic products, is under increasing scrutiny from consumers and health advocates and “could potentially force disruptive change in the packaging value chain.” BPA studies suggest that the chemical could cause health problems by leaching into liquids or foods from polycarbonate baby bottles and water bottles.
