“The Republican” (Springfield, Massachusetts) reports South Hadley, Massachusetts, residents will get some help in kicking their bottled water habits by being able to exchange a plastic water bottle for an aluminum one at the headquarters for the town’s two water departments in an effort to cut down on the amount of plastic going to landfills, save communities and consumers money, and is be healthier, according to officials. Almost 2 million tons of plastic reportedly ends up in American landfills each year.
