Economic Woes and Environmental Concerns Turn Americans to Tap Water

The “Boston Globe” reports our current “lousy economy” may be accomplishing what environmentalists have been trying to do for years—get people to stop buying plastic bottled water and start using the tap again. Buying bottled water can reportedly cost one individual more than $400 per year. Americans’ concerns about the use of oil in making and transporting plastic water bottles are also reportedly driving the trend to drink tap water.
