FDA Allegedly Relied on Industry-Funded Studies to Assess Safety of BPA

The “Milwaukee Journal Sentinel” reports the FDA relied on just two industry-funded studies to judge the safety of the plastic chemical bisphenol A (BPA), while ignoring hundreds of government and academic studies showing BPA can be harmful to lab animals at low doses. According to the article, one of the industry-funded studies has never been published, and therefore never subjected to peer review and reporters have allegedly criticized the second study, saying that the results are inconclusive because of flawed experimental methods.
