According to the Telegram, the Senate may take up a bill aimed at eliminating industry reliance on some of the most commonly used and most health-threatening toxic chemicals, such as phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA), before the end of its formal sessions for the year. The legislation would reportedly require that safer alternatives be used to replace toxic chemicals linked to chronic illnesses and identified as priority toxins in studies done by the state Toxic Use Reduction Institute.
