Potentially Toxic Chemicals Still Used Despite Allegedly Being Considered Dangerous

The Toronto Star reports that due to the lengthy regulatory process of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (an act, currently under review, that sets out the process by which chemicals can be declared toxic), harmful chemicals continue to be used in products in Canada. According to the article, lead and other chemicals, such as phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA), which are allegedly used in plastics, are “still in wide use despite being considered dangerous.”
