“Wholesome Glass”

The Pacific Spirit Marine Institute reports on some of the longstanding positive attributes of glass containers: it keeps products “ice cold” and it can be “recycled into infinity,” never “losing any of its quality or purity” (and for every ton of glass recycled, a reported 9 gallons of fuel are saved). The article further reports on plastics packaging, noting that some plastics materials contain chemicals such as bisphneol A (BPA), which could be harmful to human health, and more and more plastics products are ending up in landfills (Americans throw away a reported 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour).
