Chemicals found in many Consumer Products may be affecting Boys’ Health

According to The Globe and Mail, boys are often the weaker sex when it comes to many illnesses, including asthma, autism, childhood cancer and behavioral disorders, as they may be more sensitive to pollution from many hormone-like chemicals “widely used in consumer products ranging from computers to plastic water bottles.” Chemicals such as bisphenol A, “a plastic compound used in water bottles and the inside linings of beverage and food cans,” and phthalates, “used in personal care products and soft plastics,” are allegedly both hormone-disrupting chemicals that have been more widely used in the past few decades.
