Are you Swallowing Residues of the Chemical Bisphenol A?

According to National Geographic’s The Green Guide, a suspect chemical in plastic bottles and cans, bisphenol A (BPA), may leach out of such containers into the products contained, which could mean you are swallowing residues of the chemical. According to the article, BPA has also been found to migrate, under some conditions, from plastic water bottles made of polycarbonate plastic. The amounts of BPA that leach into food are reportedly below the safety thresholds set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); however, people are growing more and more concerned that these “lower” doses may still be harmful to human health.
